Cebu is undoubtedly a good place not just for travelers but also for people who want to settle in this place. In case you’re a new resident of the province and you want to know where you can get the best grocery deals in town, there are two types of market in Cebu – wet market or “palengke” and the popular airconditioned grocery chains. You can always opt to go to wet markets if you feel like supermarkets are too classy for you.

Supermarkets, compared to wet markets, are more convenient and reliable. In supermarkets, the items are already categorized for you. Canned goods, frozen food, fresh veggies and fruits, fresh meat, home essentials, and other basic products have their own bay so you can find them easier. That definitely saves you time unlike when you browse the open market.

White Gold Club

Don’t be tricked by the name. White Gold Club isn’t a club or a type of supermarket that needs a membership fee. In fact, it is the cheapest grocery store among the places in this list. Although the store is struggling to keep up with the competition, its strategy to stay on course is to keep the prices the lowest.

Colonnade Supermarket

Located in Colon Street, you will find one of the cheapest supermarkets in the town as well. If you can’t find free parking for your car, try to pay the parking area just across the supermarket. Just be aware that the area can be hot because the place doesn’t utilize air conditioners anymore.

S&R offers great deals on groceries too. These are mostly imported products from abroad. Most shoppers get their own inventories here instead of getting them from other distributors. Because of the low price offers, this supermarket is keeping its business intact.
