How to Apply for a Conductor’s License in LTO

What are the Qualifications Needed to Apply for a Conductor’s License?

  1. The applicant needs to be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Physical and mental fitness for work is a must, along with not having any infectious diseases.
  3. Proficiency in reading and writing in either Filipino or English is required.
  4. A pass score on the theoretical examination is necessary for new Conductor’s License applicants and for those whose licenses have not been renewed for more than two years from the expiration date.
  5. Applicants should not have any unresolved traffic violations.
  6. Attendance and passing of the Conductor’s Theoretical Course from an LTO Driver’s Education Center, or an LTO accredited Driving School/LTO Accredited TESDA Training Center is a prerequisite.
  7. Completion of the Driver’s Education Program (DEP) for conductor’s re-orientation is required before the initial renewal of a five-year Conductor’s License.

Application Process on Getting Conductor’s License with Examination

Step 1: Acquires and completes the Application for Driver’s License (ADL) form.

  • Receives a queue number.

Step 2: Submits the completed ADL along with all necessary documents, attached with the queue number.

Step 3: Moves on to the Cashier to pay the required fees.

Step 4: Takes the written examination.

Step 5: Proceeds to the practical driving test.

Participates in the actual driving test.

  • IF FAILED – End of Transaction.

Step 6: Returns to the cashier to pay the necessary fees.

Step 7: Moves to the encoding/biometric window and fills out the form for encoding complete details into the new LTO-IT system.

Step 8: Receives the Official Receipt (OR) and the Driver’s License (DL) Card.

  • Signs in the log sheet.

Validity of Conductor’s License

The validity of a newly issued Conductor’s License (CL) extends for five years, calculated from the date of birth of the license holder, unless it is revoked or suspended earlier. If the CL holder maintains a clean record with no violations during these five years leading up to its expiration, they are eligible to renew their license. This renewed license will then be valid for an extended period of ten (10) years.
