What IDs Are Available For Expats?

There are actually just two expat IDs acceptable here in Cebu and other parts of the country, The first ID is the passport of the expat, which is processed in his/her respective country. The next one is the ACR I-Card or the Alien Certification of Registration Card, which will be processed here in the country.

What Are The Required Documents?

  • BI Form 2014-08-006 Rev 0, which can be downloaded here: http://immigration.gov.ph/images/FORMS/VariousApplicationsForms/4.%20Application%20Form%20for%20ACR%20I-CARD%20NEW.pdf
  • Certified true copy issued by the Records Section of the Board of Commissioners (BOC)’s
  • Order granting the visa (for internal verification purposes)
  • Certified true copy issued by the Records Section of the Commissioner’s Order of
  • Approval granting the Student Visa (for internal verification purposes)
  • Photocopy of passport bio-page and passport pages with valid visa implementation and
  • The latest admission with authorized stay
  • Photocopy of official receipt(s) of payment for applicable fees and
  • Two (2) pieces of 2×2 photograph of the applicant with a white background and must be taken within the last three (3) months from the date of application.
  • You should have stayed for more than 59 days in the country.

ACR I-Card Application Process

  • Fill out the application form (BI Form 2014-08-006) and bring it with you.
  • Bring the necessary documents mentioned above.
  • Go to the nearest Bureau of Immigration in your area. Here’s the list of district offices in Cebu:
    • P. Burgos St. Mandaue City | (032)-253-4339
    • J Centre Mall, Mandaue City | (032)-345-6442
    • Gaisano Mactan Island Mall, Lapu-Lapu City | (032)-495-2852
  • Once the form and documents are submitted, wait for the officer to check if there are any derogatory records under your name.
  • If all clear, you may now get your Order of Payment Slip (OPS).
  • Pay US$50 at the cashier for the I-Card.
  • Submit a copy of the official receipt for paying the fee.
  • Wait for the claim stub to be printed out.
  • Present the claim stub so you can claim your ACR I-Card before going home.

You shouldn’t miss out on the fact that this ID is very important during your stay especially if you’re here for more than 59 days already. Always bring the card with you to avoid penalties and charges.
